If you are looking for a guitar tuner in drop d then you have come to the right place. Many rock musicians use this tuning to sound heavier. It is also preferred by bands who play most of their songs in the key of D. Bands like Big Wreck, Default, and Atlantis Blueprint write the majority of their songs in drop D tuning.

For those of you who do not know, you tune your guitar to drop D simply by tuning your low E string down a full tone, to a D. Doing this allows you to play a D power chord just by hitting your lowest 3 strings open. You can use the highest 3 strings to add extra notes to make more complex chord patterns.

That is just one of many reasons guitarist use this tuning. Here is our online guitar tuner for drop d.

Welcome to Guitar-Tuner.org

Guitar tuners are a must for all guitarists and bassists whether they are touring, gigging, or just jamming with fellow musicians. Every guitar player knows what a tuner is and most musicians know how to use one. If you do not know how to use one please check out How to Tune a Guitar.

They are extremely important to musicians and are used for many different reasons:

Bands don’t have much time to spare in between songs and rely on stage tuners to tune up quickly and accurately.

Beginners who have not yet developed their ears need a guitar tuner to make sure their guitar is tuned properly

People who use numerous alternate tunings save a lot of time using a guitar tuner instead of tuning by ear

Some people do not realize how important these things are, to all guitarists, beginner to expert. If bands are not able to tune silently and accurately while on stage then they would end up taking too much time and would most definitely lose the crowds energy, and attention.

If you are looking to buy a guitar tuner then you can read up on specific models in our Reviews Section.

Online Guitar Tuner
